My Foster cat has asthma?

My cat has asthma. I give him a pink pill called Triamcinolone every other day. It's a type of steroid. The vet gave me Prednisone (a different steroid) once, and it didn't help at all. Once in a while he will get wheezy and I'll have to give him a pink pill once a day for a few days, but the Triamcinolone does a pretty good job at controlling his asthma. We try to keep him at the lowest effective dose. He is six years old now and has been taking it since he was about one year old. I believe he is supposed to live the average cat life. He's a total love muffin!
