Crackling sounds on inhalation?

Sometimes when I'm getting over a cold or anything similiar I have the same thing, and I have never been diagnosed with asthma or anything. My grandmother, who is a registered nurse, said that all it meant was a tight chest and I don't know what that is but she said that its nothing to worry about at all.
