I sprained my foot and tendons yeterday .How long are people usually down?

as i can not even walk 6 inches on them crazy azz crutches and need to get to the store before thanksgiving?They put a cast on and said go to my doctor i 12 to 14 days.My poor son had to wheel me around 9 blocks and i won't ever make anyone have to go thru that again bless his sweet heart and tired legs..
